In this course, we explore concepts foundational to the cultures and spiritual traditions of Afrikan peoples. Our lens and guide will be the four cardinal directions (East, West, North and South).
We will explore the powers and meanings associated with these points/directions as understood chiefly in the cosmologies of the Fon people of West Afrika as well as their descendant tradition, Vodou, in Ayiti/Haiti.
